Man, 64, struck by car while riding scooter near Miami Norland Senior High School

Police are investigating after they said a car crashed into a 64-year-old man who was riding a scooter near Miami Norland Senior High School early Tuesday morning.

It happened near the intersection of Northwest Seventh Avenue and Northwest 194th Street in Miami Gardens.

Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Pete Sanchez confirmed that the man was “thrown from the scooter” during the crash.

Sanchez said the man was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition after sustaining multiple injuries.

Police have yet to disclose the man’s identity and the exact cause of the crash.

No other details about the crash have been released at this time.
