Man accused of multiple car burglaries after ordering food with stolen credit card in Winter Springs

A 19-year-old man was arrested after being accused of burglarizing multiple vehicles in Winter Springs apartments in July, according to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said on July 20, they responded to multiple car burglary complaints. The victims reported multiple personal belongings were stolen, while others reported damage to other vehicles.

What led deputies to the suspect was a Doordash order that was made using a stolen credit card of one of the burglary victims.

Seminole County deputies said the suspect, 19-year-old Herbie Cardenas-Caseres, placed the order using his real name, email, and phone number.

While interrogating Cardenas-Caseres, he told deputies he had found the credit card on the road and had decided to use it. He then claimed that a friend had given it to him.

However, upon further investigation, deputies discovered the suspect made phone calls the day of the incident near the location of the burglarized vehicles.

Deputies said he also attempted to trade in a pair of stolen AirPod Maxes from one of the vehicles.

Based on all the evidence deputies gathered, they believe Cardenas-Caseres was involved in the car burglary.

He is now facing multiple charges, including:

  • Burglary of conveyance
  • Grand theft
  • Criminal mischief
  • Theft
  • Theft of credit cards
  • Criminal use of personal ID

Deputies didn’t share if there were other suspects involved in the incident.
