A 31-year-old man was arrested over the weekend after Miami Gardens police say he slapped a girl outside her home before spitting in an officer’s face.
According to his arrest report, the incidents occurred just before 10 p.m. Saturday.
Miami Gardens police said Dmytro Krakhmalny, of Ukraine, approached the girl in the front yard of her home and slapped her in the face.
The victim told police that he then grabbed onto her, at which time she screamed out to her family who was inside the home.
According to the report, Krakhmalny, who is homeless, then walked away.
A responding officer spotted Krakhmalny heading south from the area, wearing a distinct red Spider Man hoodie.
Police said he was detained and the victim, whose age was not released in the arrest report, identified him as the man who slapped her.
According to the report, while sitting in the back of a police vehicle, Krakhmalny spat at an officer, causing spit to hit the officer in the face and right hand.
Krakhmalny was arrested on charges of child abuse without great bodily harm and battery on a police officer.
As of Monday afternoon, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where his bond had yet to be set.
The arrest report did not disclose a motive for the initial incident.
