Man arrested a day after birthday following police chase in Broward County

A man was arrested Monday, just a day after his 19th birthday, after authorities say he led them on a chase in Broward County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho, troopers attempted to pull over a white BMW that was driving recklessly while heading south on Interstate 95 near Commercial Boulevard.

Camacho said the driver, Jacari Hall, fled from troopers and a pursuit ensued.

He said Hall exited onto Sunrise Boulevard where he tossed a gun out of the driver’s side window.

He then continued to flee until troopers were able to conduct a PIT maneuver that disabled the car in the area of Sunrise Blvd and Northwest 16th Terrace, Camacho said.

According to Camacho, Hall then fled the scene on foot into a residential area.

A multi-agency perimeter was established and Hall was taken into custody shortly after.

He was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries before being booked into the Broward County Jail.

Hall is facing charges of possession of a weapon by a delinquent adult felon, possession of a short-barreled gun, rifle or machine gun, resisting an officer without violence, tampering with physical evidence, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, aggravated fleeing with injury or damage, aggravated battery and reckless driving.

No other details were immediately released about why Hall allegedly didn’t stop for troopers.
