Man arrested after hit-and-run crash into North Naples sewage pump station

A man was arrested on Tuesday after crashing a pickup truck into sewage pipe at a lift station in North Naples.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said ZB, 33, is was arrested in connection to a the crash that happened near Cypress Way E and Heritage Way Monday night.

CCSO said they responded to reports of a hit-and-run crash on Monday around 9:05 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they said they saw a car with heavy rear end damage. Deputies spoke with the driver who said the truck involved drove north away from the scene.

According to the arrest report, deputies drove north on Cypress Way E, near Sawgrass Court, to search for the suspected truck.

Deputies said while searching, they saw a red truck to have struck a sewage pump station head on.

Deputies identified the driver as B who was reportedly enclosed inside the truck, in and out of consciousness. B was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Following treatment, B was arrested on one count of leaving the scene of an accident.
