The man authorities say is responsible for a traffic crash that killed a mother and her 8-month old daughter is finally being charged.
27-year-old TJ B is in the Washington County Jail tonight, charged with driving with a suspended, revoked, or cancelled license, causing serious bodily injury or death.
Florida Highway Patrol state troopers say B was driving a red pick-up truck westbound on Highway 20 at Strickland Road, just west of Ebro. There were two cars ahead of him, the first was stopped to turn left onto Strickland Road, the second was stopped for the first.
B hit the second car, a red Ford Focus, knocking it into the car that was turning. Then B’s truck and the red Ford crossed the center line, and where a 4th car heading east on Highway 20 hit them.
There were two people inside of the Ford, the driver, 25-year-old VA of Panama City, and her 8-month-old daughter Gracelynn Lopez. Both were killed.
Three others were seriously injured. The crash happened February 26th last year. B has been free until authorities completed their investigation.
He was picked up last week in Walton County and transferred to the Washington County Jail on Monday. He’s currently held on a $75,000 bond.
