Police investigated a shooting Tuesday morning in northwest Miami-Dade that left a man in critical condition.

It happened at around 10:35 a.m. in the 2400 block of Northwest 46th Street in the unincorporated Brownsville area.

A Miami-Dade Police Department spokesperson said officers were sent to the area after getting a ShotSpotter alert and arrived to find the man who had been shot in the leg.

Authorities said medics took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center for treatment.

Video from Sky 10 showed a number of evidence markers in the street.

As of around 11 a.m., police said their investigation continued and the scene remained “very active.”

They hadn’t said whether they identified or detained any suspects or persons of interest.
