Man dead after two semi-trucks crash on I-75 in Lee County

One person was killed in a crash on I-75 involving two semi-truck on Tuesday evening in Lee County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 6:40 p.m., a 28-year-old North Fort Myers man was driving a Chevy Malibu on I-75 north of Luckett Road.

The sedan and a semi-trailer slowed down due to traffic.

FHP states the driver of the semi-truck failed to slow down.

The front of the semi-truck crashed into the back of the sedan. This caused the sedan to crash into the back of another semi-truck.

The North Fort Myers man was pronounced dead at the scene.

FHP states this crash remains under investigation.
