Man dies after being shot in South Apopka, deputies say

A man died after being shot Sunday afternoon in South Apopka, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 1:30 p.m. to a shooting reported out of the 500 block of West Ella J Gilmore Street, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The man who had been shot — described as being in his 20s — was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries, the statement reads.

All parties involved remained at the scene, the sheriff’s office said, adding an investigation is ongoing.
