Man dies after falling off a motorcycle on the Palmetto Expressway

MIAMI – A man died after falling off a motorcycle on Friday in northwestern Miami-Dade County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, the motorcyclist landed on the Palmetto Expressway’s southbound lanes in Hialeah Gardens.

Fire Rescue personnel responded to the Palmetto, or State Road 826, near Northwest 103 Street, and took the man to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

FHP temporarily closed four lanes while investigating what caused the motorcyclist to lose control and fall at about 11:30 a.m.

There was a massive traffic backup at about 1:40 p.m. According to FHP, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the hospital.
