 A man died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after shooting a woman Saturday evening in Escambia County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded to a reported shooting on the 2200-block of Kingfisher Court just after 5 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, upon arrival, they discovered a woman with non-life-threatening injuries and a man in a separate room with critical injuries.

Both were transported to the hospital, where the man died from his injuries. The woman is expected to recover.

An investigation into both shootings is ongoing. Deputies say it appears at this time that the man shot himself after shooting the woman.
