Man driving golf cart killed after being struck crossing road in Putnam County

A 59-year-old Crescent City man died Sunday afternoon after he was struck by a car while trying to drive across U.S. 17 in Putnam County in a golf cart, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the man was traveling east from a private driveway trying to cross U.S. 17 near Old U.S. 17 around 4 p.m. when he drove into the path of the car.

He died at the scene.

The 23-year-old driver of the car suffered minor injuries.

No other details were immediately available.
