Man driving McLaren dies in fiery crash on SR 408 in Orange County, troopers say

A man driving a McLaren on State Road 408 in Orange County died late Saturday after the vehicle crashed and became engulfed in flames, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the entrance ramp to State Road 417 from westbound S.R. 408, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the driver was in the ramp’s inside lane when he failed to negotiate a curve to the right, causing the 2020 McLaren 720S to run off the roadway to the left. The front of the vehicle struck a traffic sign support post and caught on fire, the report states.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said, adding further details of his identification were pending at the time of this report.

FHP is still investigating.
