Man facing DUI charges after killing motorcyclist, hospitalizing 9-year-old girl in Pinellas Park crash

A man is facing DUI manslaughter charges following a deadly crash in Pinellas Park on Friday night, the Pinellas Park Police Department said.

The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, identified as 56-year-old Enerildo Lopez Rojas, was traveling southbound on US Highway 19 North when he made a left turn into the path of the motorcycle.

The crash caused Consuelo Serralde, the driver of the motorcycle, to slam into the side of the Tacoma.

On Saturday, officials confirmed that Serralde died after being taken to a hospital, while her 9-year-old passenger remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition. Both people on the motorcycle were wearing helmets, according to the department.

Police said Rojas showed signs of impairment at the scene of the crash. He was later arrested for DUI manslaughter, DUI serious bodily injury, and resisting an officer.
