Man found dead Monday after weekend Manatee County crash, FHP says

A man was found dead on Monday after a crash in Manatee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened in the area of US 301 and 9th Street East in Bradenton.

The man was driving a Dodge Charger north on US 301 and lost control during a left-hand turn in the road, troopers said. The man left the roadway and crashed into a fence and tree line.

The wreckage from the crash was found on Monday morning, but the crash is believed to have happened over the weekend, troopers said.

Troopers believe the vehicle was traveling at an “extreme” speed.
