Man hit and killed while fishing in Gulf County

One man is dead after an accident in Gulf County, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV was traveling on Indian Pass Road, just north of Painted Pony Road.

Troopers say the driver attempted to remove a cellphone from their pocket. This action reportedly caused the SUV to travel off the right side of the road, hitting a man who was fishing from the bridge.
