Man hit and killed while walking inside Camp Blanding military base

A Jeep hit and killed a pedestrian on a military base in Clay County on Friday.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a 28-year-old woman was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee east on Avenue B inside Camp Blanding military base around 7 a.m.

The Jeep struck a 38-year-old man from Keystone Heights walking on the roadway near Fort Pierce Road.

The driver remained at the scene.
