Man hit, killed by 2 semi-trucks on I-95 in Melbourne, troopers say.

A man has died after being hit and killed by two semi-trucks on Interstate 95 in Brevard County Monday morning, according to troopers.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 in the area of mile marker 190 in Melbourne.

Troopers said the 57-year-old Tonawanda, New York man, parked his vehicle on the I-95 outside shoulder and then walked into the direct path of a semi-truck.

The collision caused the man to fall into the direct path of another oncoming semi-truck, which also struck him, FHP said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both truck drivers – a 44-year-old man from Jacksonville and a 50-year-old man from Port Saint Lucie – were not injured.

Troopers shut down the area for their investigation and diverted drivers to exit 188, the Pineda Causeway Extension. The lanes were later reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
