MIAMI – A shooting investigation is underway in the city of Miami after police said a fight escalated, erupting into gunfire
Officers said were called to a scene near Douglas Park on Southwest 37th Avenue just before 9 p.m. Saturday.
According to investigators, there was a fight between a group of men, and one person shot at another, striking him in the leg.
That victim was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, with first responders saying he was alert and conscious.
Police did not say whether they had taken anyone into custody or if they were seeking any suspects or persons of interest.
