A person is in custody after a man was found with a gunshot wound, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies said the shooting happened around 6:35 p.m. on Garrison Lane in Frostproof.
The victim, described only as an adult man, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said he appeared to have been shot once.
The shooting was between a man and his daughter’s boyfriend, according to PCSO.
“We do not believe the public is in danger at this time,” authorities said Thursday.
The investigation is ongoing.
