Man injured in early-morning mugging in Fort Myers; Police seek suspects

A man walking his moped home was injured during an early-morning robbery in Fort Myers Saturday.

According to Fort Myers Police, the victim said he was approached by a group of men who took his moped and cash around 1:50 a.m.

During the incident, near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Palm Avenue, the victim said was hit with an object, leaving him with a laceration.

Officers later found the moped abandoned near a house but did not find any suspects during their search.

The victim, whose injuries were not life-threatening, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
