Man injured in rollover crash that temporarily shut down part of I-75

A busy South Florida highway was temporarily closed due to a bad crash over the weekend.

It happened overnight along I-75 near Northwest 186th Street in Hialeah.

Authorities said the call came in as an overturned vehicle.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a black Lexus sedan and a beige Mitsubishi SUV were traveling south on I-75, in the area of State Road 860, when the two vehicles were involved in some kind of collision.

The crash caused the Mitsubishi to travel off the highway and flip over before going over the center median barrier wall, coming to a stop on the northbound grassy median.

Troopers said the man driving the Mitsubishi was rushed by helicopter to Ryder Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway has since reopened.
