A man was killed after he was shot outside a convenience store in Homestead Saturday night, police said.
According to police, the shooting happened outside a convenience store but the man was able to make his way to the corner of Southwest Sixth Avenue before he fell to the ground.
NBC6 was told that the alleged gunman fled the scene.
Detectives have not disclosed what led up to the shooting, and the victim’s identity hasn’t been released by police.
Two Florida City Commissioners and several people in the neighborhood told NBC6 that the victim was a handyman named Sidney Myers.
A memorial was seen at the intersection where Myers died, where people left tools and a flower bucket that said “get justice Sid.”
