Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead and another hurt after gunfire erupted outside a Miramar Dunkin’ Donuts early Tuesday.
Miramar police Sgt. Tiffany Roy said officers responded to several ShotSpotter alerts in the area of 6190 Miramar Parkway at 3:29 a.m.
Aerial images show several evidence markers outside a Dunkin’ Donuts location at that address.
“When officers arrived on scene, they discovered shell casings in the parking lot. However, they were not able to locate any victims or involved vehicles,” Roy said.
Roy confirmed that that second man died.
His name was not immediately available, but family members who went to the scene were in anguish. According to relatives, the deceased man’s wife fainted multiple times at the news, and had to be rushed to the hospital.
NBC6 cameras captured authorities setting up a barrier and investigating a dark-colored BMW at the scene on State Road 7.

Police are not yet sure of a possible motive for the gunfire, but they believe the incident is isolated and there is no danger to the community.
Witnesses remained on scene and cooperated with authorities, Roy said.
No suspects are in custody. Anyone with information is asked to contact Miramar police.
This is a developing story.
