A man was seriously injured after a truck crashed into the entrance of Sunseeker Resort in Port Charlotte.
Witnesses reported that the black pickup truck was traveling at high speed, coming off the Peace River Bridge northbound on US 41, when it crossed the center median into oncoming southbound traffic.
The truck narrowly missed hitting other vehicles before slamming into the cement wall at the resort entrance.
Charlotte County Fire Rescue extracted the man from the truck, and he was airlifted from the scene for medical attention.
