Orlando police announced they have arrested the person they said shot and killed a 46-year-old man in the Magic Mall parking lot on Sunday morning, according to a news release.
Police said they responded to a report of a shooting at the business located at 2155 West Colonial Drive around 2:19 a.m.
According to the release, officers found the victim, identified as 46-year-old Joseph U. Phillips, with a gunshot wound.
Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene by the Orlando Fire Department, police said.
Police said that after an investigation, they learned that Phillips was a patron at the D’Junction Island Bar and Restaurant and had stepped outside just as a group in the parking lot became involved in an argument.
During the fight, a suspect pulled out a gun and tried to shoot another person, but inadvertently shot Phillips, according to OPD.
According to the release, officers identified the suspect as 42-year-old K A.R.
R was arrested at his home by the Orlando Police Department SWAT team, officials said. He faces charges of manslaughter with a weapon.
Police said they are not looking for any other suspects.
