A 60-year-old man was struck and killed by a train Wednesday night in Melbourne, according to police.
Officers were dispatched around 8:25 p.m. to the area of Fee Avenue, according to the Melbourne Police Department.
The man had been walking on the train tracks when he was struck, police said in a statement.
No one else on the train was injured, the statement reads.
Road closures in place at the railroad tracks up to Hibiscus Boulevard were cleared before midnight, the department said on social media.
Police said the man’s death appeared to be a suicide.
