Marion County firefighters were dispatched to a commercial building in Belleview on Saturday morning after smoke began rising from the roof.
Shortly after 7 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, a 911 caller reported that a “smell of burning wood” was coming from a commercial building located in the 6700 block of SE 110th Street in Belleview. Within minutes, several MCFR units arrived on scene.
MCFR crews observed a fire inside one of the commercial buildings in the area. The firefighters quickly forced entry into the structure and used hoses to douse the flames with water.
Four minutes later, the fire was called under control by MCFR.
There were no injuries reported.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause and origin of the fire, according to Marion County Fire Rescue.
