A sprinkler system at Pursuit Aerospace in Stuart held the line of fire in time for firefighters to arrive and extinguish the blaze.

According to Martin County Fire Rescue (MCFR), station 30 responded to the fire alarm on Southeast Commerce Street on Saturday night with an engine and an ambulance.

Upon arrival, firefighters said the smell of smoke caused them to upgrade the call to a working commercial structure fire with five stations involved.

Crews discovered a small fire near a table had triggered the alarm, managed to stop the flames from spreading, and cleared out the remaining smoke according to a Facebook post regarding the incident

The Martin County Fire Rescue highlights the importance of sprinkler systems in reducing damage in this incident.

A correction was made replacing the company’s former name, Paradigm Precision with its new name Pursuit Aerospace.
