Flames broke out Saturday night behind a truck stop in Nocatee off Southwest Highway 17, leaving multiple people without their homes.
According to DeSoto County Fire Rescue, three travel trailers were destroyed in the fire, one more was damaged along with two other utility trailers.
Fire officials said one person was transported to the hospital.
Two people and three dogs were displaced as well. Officials said the Red Cross is aiding them.
The fire sparked at approximately 6:24 p.m. Saturday, and firefighters controlled it at approximately 6:45 p.m.
The state fire marshal is investigating the fire.
