Melbourne man struck, killed in Brevard County crosswalk

A 68-year-old Melbourne man was killed Thursday night in a Brevard County crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 7:50 p.m. on W King Street near Cox Road.

According to a crash report, the man entered a crosswalk and was walking across W King Street in the path of an oncoming 2004 Cadillac CTS.

The front of the vehicle hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said they are still determining what traffic signal the driver had at the time of the crash.

The driver, a 51-year-old Cocoa man, was uninjured.

An investigation is ongoing.
