A city of Miami firefighter is recovering in the hospital after having a medical emergency while training.
According to Miami Fire Rescue, the firefighter, who has not been identified, was conducting a SWAT medic training on the Rickenbacker Causeway on Tuesday afternoon when the medical emergency occurred.
Paramedics on scene were able to quickly begin treating the firefighter.
Authorities said the firefighter was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
He remains there in serious but stable condition, officials said.
