A Miami man died after crashing his car into a construction site along I-75 early Monday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 65-year-old man was driving a Toyota Corolla on I-75 near mile marker 97, also known as Alligator Alley, when the vehicle veered off the road and into the median.
The car then collided with a dirt pile in an active construction zone just south of ht toll booth plaza. Officials believe a medical issue may have contributed to the crash.
Emergency crews transported the driver to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The driver’s name has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
