Motorcycle crash closes southbound N. Congress Ave. in Riviera Beach

A stretch of North Congress Avenue is shut down in Riviera Beach following a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.

Southbound lanes of the road were blocked off around 12:15 p.m. near the Canopy Road intersection, between Silver Beach Road and West Blue Heron Boulevard, a Riviera Beach Police Department spokesperson explained. It remained closed more than two hours later.

Few details about the wreck have been released. In addition to confirming the crash involved the motorcycle and vehicle, the spokesperson stated that one person was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital as a trauma alert.

The police department did not indicate when the road may reopen.
