A crash in Levy County kills a 37-year-old man from Maryland Sunday night.
According to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, the 37-year-old man was driving his motorcycle north on US 41 just after 7 p.m. A 51-year-old man from Morriston was traveling southbound on US 41.
The 51-year-old made a left turn onto Southeast 35th Street, pulling in front of the motorcyclist who then fell.
Three vehicles traveling behind the 51-year-old man hit the motorcyclist, killing him.
The first vehicle to hit the rider fled the scene. Troopers describe it as a white car with damages to the front left side.
The next two vehicles remained at the scene.
Levy County Sheriff’s Office Levy County Fire Rescue and FDOT assisted at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation, and anyone with information on the white car is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol station in Ocala.
