Motorcycle crash kills 1, seriously injures 1 in Lake Butler

A 42-year-old Jacksonville man died and his passenger was seriously injured when his motorcycle lost control on State Road 100 in Lake Butler on Wednesday.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was driving his Yamaha westbound on SR 100 (E. Main Street) from State Road 121 (SE 6th Street) at 2:35 p.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle. It traveled off the roadway and into the center median, striking the raised center median curb.

The motorcycle spun clockwise and ejected both the driver and his passenger, a 20-year-old Jacksonville woman.
