Motorcyclist airlifted after crash in Hialeah Gardens

A motorcyclist was airlifted to a trauma center early Tuesday morning following a crash involving a car in Hialeah Gardens, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Authorities said the crash was reported just before 6 a.m. and involved a motorcycle and a car near the intersection of Okeechobee Road and Northwest 116th Way.

MDFR said first responders declared one person a trauma alert and transported the motorcyclist by helicopter to a nearby trauma center for treatment.

Video from Sky 10 showed medics pushing the motorcyclist onto a gurney before the victim was airlifted to the hospital.

Authorities have not released further details about the motorcyclist’s age, gender, condition, or the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The crash isn’t expected to cause any traffic delays at this time.
