A motorcyclist involved in a crash in Manatee County on Thursday died from his injuries.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. on State Road 70 East near Brendle Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A Chevy Silverado, pulling a trailer, and a motorcycle were travelling in the westbound lanes, approaching a driveway leading to an RV business. As the pickup slowed down to turn onto the driveway, the motorcycle entered the eastbound lanes in an attempt to pass slower traffic.

The motorcycle collided with the front of the pickup as it began to turn onto the driveway. The 25-year-old motorcyclist was separated from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

The crash is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
