BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – A Fountain man is dead following a crash at the intersection of Highway 231 and Cherokee Heights Road.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. on Monday night. Panama City officials say a motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Highway 231 approaching Cherokee Heights Road when for an unknown reason a truck pulling a trailer collided with the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, 31-year-old Trenton Hood, was thrown from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene. While Highway 231 was blocked for several hours it is now re-opened.
The investigation into exactly what caused the accident is ongoing.
