Motorcyclist killed after hitting curb, losing control on US-301 in Marion County

A 50-year-old motorcyclist from Maine died Monday night after hitting a curb and losing control on U.S. Highway 301 in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash happened around 11:30 p.m. near County Road 42.

According to an FHP crash report, the man was heading north when he hit a curb, lost control and overturned in the center median of US-301.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died, troopers said.

No other information has been released.
