A motorcyclist died in a crash in the Lake Forest Hills area Saturday morning.
According to JSO, the crash happened at the intersection of Moncrief Road and W. Edgewood Avenue around 2:20 a.m.
Police said the man in his mid-50s was heading westbound on W. Edgewood Avenue. At the same time, an elderly woman, driving a sedan, was traveling eastbound.
The woman then turned left into the path of the motorcyclist as she tried to enter a Sunoco gas station on Moncrief.
The man on the motorcycle struck the sedan head-on, and the impact threw him off the motorcycle.
He was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly after. The driver showed no signs of impairment and cooperated with police, JSO said.
This is the 121st traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 22nd involving a motorcycle.
