A 37-year-old man was killed Sunday night when his motorcycle collided with a van on U.S. 27 in Polk County, according to deputies.
The crash happened around 6 p.m. near Charles Street, not far from Frostproof.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a van was stopped at a stop sign and turned left onto U.S. 27 in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle and van collided, causing the man to be thrown off the bike, deputies said. The motorcyclist, identified as K L, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van, a 48-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
