Naked man damages truck, punches MCSO sergeant outside funeral home, deputies say

A 48-year-old man was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly exposed himself, damaged a married couple’s vehicle, and struck a law enforcement officer outside a funeral home in Ocala.

On Sunday, August 11, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office sergeant and corporal responded to Forest Lawn Funeral Home located at 5740 S Pine Avenue in reference to a naked man who was “causing a disturbance,” according to the arrest report.

The man was later identified as 48-year-old Gainesville resident Orson Jay Hutton.

The report stated that when the corporal arrived at the funeral home, Hutton was observed “physically punching” the sergeant, who had first arrived on scene. As the corporal approached Hutton and informed him that he would be tasered, Hutton allegedly continued to punch the sergeant.

After being tasered twice, Hutton was detained in handcuffs, and he was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.

The corporal noted that a married couple was at the funeral home at the time of the incident. The couple advised that Hutton had walked towards them while yelling that he was “going to rape” one of them, according to the report.

Hutton then allegedly “took off his boxers and exposed his penis and genitals” while approaching the couple’s truck as they retreated inside the vehicle. The report stated that Hutton then picked up a stick and began striking the vehicle.

The corporal noted in the report that dents and scratches were visible on the couple’s truck, and the damage was estimated at approximately $5,000.

The couple stated that as they tried to leave the area, Hutton continued “screaming and yelling” at them while allegedly carrying a stick and metal sign. The report stated that a stick and metal sign were observed on the ground in the parking lot of the funeral home.

Following his medical evaluation, Hutton was transported to Marion County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. He is being charged with assault, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting a law enforcement officer with violence, exposure of sexual organs, and criminal mischief with more than $1,000 in damages.

As of 2 p.m. on August 19, a booking photo of Hutton was not yet available.
