No injuries reported following fire at resort in Ponte Vedra Beach

A fire broke out today at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, located in the 1000 block of TPC Boulevard in Ponte Vedra Beach, prompting a response from St. Johns County Fire Rescue, according to a social media post.

Rescue 10 was first on the scene and reported flames actively burning in the hotel’s laundry room.

Fire crews contained the fire and thoroughly searched multiple rooms. Fortunately, no victims were found.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department provided aid during the response.

Before firefighters arrived, one occupant jumped from a second-story balcony to escape the fire. The individual was not injured, according to the St. Johns County Fire Rescue.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
