A deadly crash that had all of the northbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike shut down in Orlando has now been cleared.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was killed and two other vehicles were involved.
FHP says the crash happened at 3:43 a.m. on Thursday. The turnpike was closed for many hours, reopening at mile marker 261 around 8:30 a.m.
FHP says the crash involved a semi-trailer, a SUV, and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, but no additional information has been released.
It is still unclear what caused the crash. WESH 2 has reached out to FHP and will update this article when troopers obtain more information from their investigation.
