Oasis High School softball coach arrested for sending naked pictures, touching a minor.

A volunteer softball coach at Oasis High School was arrested Wednesday after being accused of touching and sending naked pictures to a minor.

The Cape Coral Police Department states a student reported that Erick Rodriguez, 42, had been sending sexually explicit text messages and nude photos showing his face to another student.

CCPD detectives met with the student who reported the information.

The student also said others at the school were talking about the messages.

An investigation of the girl’s phone revealed that there was inappropriate communication.

The report states he sent and requested nude photos from the student.

Rodriguez is also accused of touching the girl over her clothes.

He was arrested and charged with one count of indecent, lewd, or lascivious touching of minors, one count of transmission of harmful materials to a minor, and one count of soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct, all of which are third-degree felonies.

His bond was set at $20,000 for each count, totaling $60,000.

He must be fitted with a GPS monitor before he is released, and the judge ordered him to have no contact with minors.

On April 29th, he filed a written plea of not guilty and a waiver of appearance.

His arraignment hearing is set for May 28 at 8 a.m.
