Ocala man struck, killed while standing in road, Florida troopers say

A 52-year-old Ocala man was struck and killed Sunday night in Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck happened around 9:35 p.m. on U.S. 441 near near SE 3rd Avenue.

The FHP said a 27-year-old Reddick woman was driving a car south on U.S. 441 and did not observe the man, who was standing in the outside southbound lane.

The car struck the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an FHP crash report.

The driver was not hurt.
