Off-duty Orange County deputy injured after road rage incident, holds suspect at gunpoint until police arrive

A man was arrested in Osceola County on Monday after police say he cut another driver after an argument.

The St. Cloud Police Department said it happened just before 1 p.m. when two drivers got into an altercation.

The two vehicles, a white tesla and silver pick-up truck, pulled into a parking lot on Connecticut Ave.

Police said the drivers pulled into a parking lot when one got out of his car and cut the driver of the other vehicle with a knife.

The person cut was an off-duty Orange County deputy, SCPD said.

The deputy pulled out their gun and detained the driver until police arrived. Police said both drivers were compliant.

Police said the deputy was not seriously hurt.

The driver was arrested and is facing an aggravated battery charge.

People who live in the area like N W said they don’t see things like this in the neighborhood.

“I came out of my house, and I felt like I was barricaded in. They had the roads blocked off on both ends, there were multiple police cars, and an investigative team and everything else. I was concerned that maybe got hurt, maybe shot or something,” W said.
