One dead after crash between motorcycle, semi-truck in St. Petersburg

A motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon after troopers said he was involved in a crash with a semi-truck.

The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 at the intersection of 49th Street North and 58th Avenue North in St. Petersburg, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 21-year-old Seminole man was reportedly traveling south on 49th Street North on a Suzuki motorcycle when a semi-truck turned in front of him, causing him to crash into the truck.

The driver of the semi-truck, a 39-year-old Mulberry man, was not injured, according to the FHP.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital, where officials said he later died from his injuries.
