One dead after vehicle collides with bicyclist in Bay County

Florida Highway Patrol officials responded to a fatal crash on Thursday night.

The incident happened just after 10:30 p.m, near Hatcher Road on Highway 77.

According to FHP officials, a 54-year-old Chipley man was riding his bike Northbound on State Road 77 in the outside lane.

Troopers said a 27-year-old Panama City man was driving in the same direction when it collided with the bike. As a result, the bike and the rider were thrown onto the shoulder of the road.

FHP officials confirmed the 54-year-old Chipley man was pronounced dead.

This crash is under investigation.
